Music and Sound

                         Music and sound effects

Some of the sound effects we were planning to use off of iMovie include:

  • Crickets to add to the effect that we are in  field.
  • Drone Dark 1,2& 3
  • Footsteps to emphasise the girl walking along the gravel at the stable.
  • Heartbeat to add suspense before the gunshot goes off.
  • Horse gallop to exaggerate the fact that horses are going around.
  • Horse whinny to exaggerate that the horses are going around are the land.
  • Horse snort to again emphasises the horse sound affects.
  • Train pass fx 1&2 to add more tension to the scene.
However later we decided not to use quite so many.

After some discussion we decided to keep our sound affects throughout the film to a minimum and mainly so

we can focus on what goes on in the scene. Plus this helps to create much more of a tense climax to what is

    actually happening.
The music we were planning to use was going to be building up a large amount of suspense as there is no

dialogue throughout the opening, so we were going to rely a lot on the music to tell the situation and the genre.

We didn't want to give a lot away at the beginning, even the genre is kept quite plain and isn't handed to the

audience quite like other films of this genre may be.

The chosen piece we have in our opening piece is a track from the iMovie Library called 'Drone Dark Suspense 1'.

We chose this piece because it went well with our shots of what is happening, it built up suspense but only to a certain extent as we wanted it to be quite basic, and as little music as possible that way more tension would be created. we did try and find a piece from a website online but could not find anything that we felt would really fit our piece.

Although we chose a great amount of sounds we ended up only having the 'Drone dark suspense 1 the heart beat and a gunshot sound effect in the opening.
